NPC
I have said that the things we wear say a lot about us. T-shirts especially. Because they are usually picked out precisely because of what they say.
I like t-shirts. I don’t get as many as I would like, because the local selection is usually quite poor. My fav’s are usually bought on-line from the USA. Morgan is going over there in April and my order is just about ready to be made.
Yesterday I wore my NPC shirt. When I was at varsity I was introduced to the the wonderful world of on-line gaming. I don’t get much time anymore, but back then I spent hours and hours on-line. All playing one particular game.
A text based multiple user environment based on JRR Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings”. Players from all over the world played as elves, dwarves, hobbits or men. I made a few friends on-line (any of you reading this, drop me a comment).
As well as the players there are a bunch of other characters in the game, these non-player characters are driven by the computer, they provide the infrastructure upon which the game is built. They comprise the shopkeepers, mayors, rogues and innocents. any quest that you undertake ‘in-game’ involves one or several of these NPC’s they are sometimes hostile, sometimes helpful, but always necessary to finishing the quest.
That’s why I bought the t-shirt. It reminded me of the hours spent defending the good and vanquishing evil.
What did you wear, what does it say about you?
My top says ‘ YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT SHHHHH….’
what does that say about me?
I bought you that shirt
Well, mine was pretty perfect
perfect and very scary
