Second time around
I’ve been a bit scarce over the past few days, and if truth be told, this post is more of a pot-boiler than the real thing. My girls have been keeping me quite busy. Not that I am complaining about that, I truly believe that God put me on this planet to be the best husband my wife could possibly have and to be a real live superhero in the lives of my daughters. I love it.
Alicia has been keeping us busy, she has a bit of colic, which is not fun. But all in all I am amazed at how different Marla and I are with our second child. We actually went to a movie today. Not the greatest movie of all times, but we got a baby sitter (thanks Mom), bought the popcorn and coke and watched a whole film. All this less than three weeks after Alicia arrived. To put that into context I think it took us about seven months to do that with CJ and even then the ‘cinema’ was about 100m from our room (but that is another story).
So to those of you who are currently going through that initial period of parenthood, it is different the second time around, despite how unbelievable that statement is to you right now.
Check out some more Alicia pics here.
Why not leave a comment while you are here…
hang in there! Thinking of you guys often in the day
You truly are the best husband I could want!
And that is the best comment a blogger can hope for
Hey Guys! You are inspirations!
I’m so pleased to hear that it’s all very different 2nd time around – I’ve just found out that am pregnant again and we are delighted but have say daunted at the thought of those early weeks of new parenthood (not to mention the morning sickness- which I thought I’d avoided until 2 days ago!) anyway – it makes me feel 1000 times better reading your experience!
Well done to you both – keep up the brilliant work and loads of love to you all
Nat
Hey Nat! That is great news! You still have to put up with all the usual nonsense, but somehow knowing it before hand makes it easier. Easier, mind you, not easy
