Some Love questions (and answers) for February

Matt over at the church of no people (almost) finished of the month of February with his answers to five questions about love, dating, meeting the right girl etc. I thought I would follow his example and close out the month of love by answering those same 5 4 (decided to drop one) questions.

So here goes.

When did you start dating?

The first girl I kissed was Linda, it happened in the dolls corner, we were 4 (I think). So I guess you might say I started early. Through out Junior School there were a bunch of crushes (some that lasted years) and broken hearts (mainly ’cause she moved to Australia. I have never broken up with anybody. I am always the one who got dumped. It started in standard 6 (grade 8 ) because of some grade 12 boy that people called ‘Mouse’. Yes I got dumped for a mouse, sux. It did not get much better from there.

Did you (or do you) have a list of things you want in a spouse?

Nope never had a list. Well, other than they had to have two X chromosomes. I have always had a thing for red heads though, and wanted to have daughters with red hair and green eyes. So I ended up marrying someone of Portuguese descent. But the red hair thing was not really a list thing. So no, no list.

So if you didn’t have a list, how did you know your partner was the one?

I have always battled with this question. It sounds completely lame to say “I just knew”. We spent a bunch of time on the beach playing touch rugby with varsity friends, so it might have been the combination of touch rugby and a bikini :) . Marla and I started dating almost as soon as we met and were talking about getting married 3 months later. So really it was a case of “I just knew she was the right one for me” and every day since then has been a confirmation of that.

Which of your habits annoys your partner the most (or might annoy your future spouse, if you’re single)?

I tend to leave things out so that I can use them again. Marla thinks I forget to put them away, but actualy I am practicing economy of effort. If I know I will need said item in the the next, oh…, 3 days, it might stay out on the counter instead of being put back into the draw.

We had a good laugh the other day when She kept packing the cling wrap away, just before I needed to use it again. Seriously I was just leaving it out ’cause I knew I would be using it again. When I was done I considered leaving it out just to see what her reaction would be, but She would never have believed me that I had left it out on purpose so I just packed it away.

I asked her what my most annoying habit is, she said “your post nasal drip thingy!” Yea that bugs me too.

Your turn…
