Frustrated
I am really frustrated. It’s a little thing really, and the frustration does not filter into any other parts of my life, so in the grander scheme of things it is a frustration that is even lower than minimal.
During this years Super14 rugby competition (like last year) some people at work have been participating in a pool on the SuperBru website. On a weekly basis we log predictions of the outcomes of that weeks games and score points on if our predicted winner was correct and bonus points based on how close your predicted points margin was.
It turns out I am pretty good at this. Well I am better now than when I first started (I ended up 10th out of 15 in the first Super14 pool I ever played (super14 2009)).
Right now I am leading the office pool, and have been for most of the season. Overall I am placed 205 out of all the 72,788 players.
So why the frustration Ron?
I am glad you asked. You see SuperBru awards the player in each pool with the most points in a round with the coveted (in our office anyway) YELLOW CAP. From a SuperBru perspective you get a little yellow cap next to your name and it is logged in the pool table how may you have had in a season. In the office however the yellow cap is a little more tangible. We have a yellow construction helmet that is passed around from week to week. And the bragging rights go with it.
I wish I could post a photo of our yellow cap but, for reasons that will become apparent, I can’t.
You see despite leading our pool in all but 3 weeks of this current season, and sitting in a position where I am, barring a catastrophic meltdown, in a fairly secure position to win the pool overall this year, I HAVE NOT YET WON THE STUPID YELLOW CAP. Not once!
Everyone in the top 7 in our pool has won it at least once, except me.
As I said fairly insignificant, but it still frustrates me.
Most people (myself included) would roll their eyes and say “there are bigger things” I agree there are, but…
Do you have any insignificant frustrations? Or are all of yours significant?

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
