Knives, Books Coughs and other things
I really have no idea how to start this post, so I think I will just jump right in. I have to go in for surgery tomorrow. Nothing major, the info I got from the Dr calls it a simple procedure. I have an incisional hernia that has been getting bigger for the last 10 years since I had a laparoscopic nissen in 1999. Stupid me, should have had it seen to about 7 years ago.
So with surgery happening tomorrow at 9:30 (if everything goes according to plan), I should be out of recovery and in my lovely hospital bed by 11:30. So if you happen to think about me during that time, say a prayer won’t you?
I will also be stuck at home for the rest of the week. I have a lot of reading planned, and possibly a bunch of DVD’s. I have one or two ideas for some interesting blog posts, but we will have to see how things go.
I will try and tweet the progress tomorrow (except for the bits where I am knocked out) so if you want to keep track of things check out http://twitter.com/rontuffin
I don’t think I am going to be in hospital for too long, the Dr says that in most cases the patient can be discharged on the same day.
Say a prayer for Marla as well. Both the girls are suffering from the onset of winter, Alicia being the worst, but this surgery means that not only does the number of patients in the house increase by 50% it also means that the number of care-givers is halved.
Speaking of Lili, she has had this cough thing on and off for a number of months, she has been on antibiotics twice, during which everything clears up and she seems fine for a week or so and then the coughing, snotting and resultant throwing up start all over again
So it seems the Tuffin household is in need of a bit of prayer right now, so thanks for yours.
UPDATE 13 MAY 2010: Everything went smoothly with the op, thanks for the prayers etc.
